Iran invites UN rights chief who criticized Tehran

Iran has invited the UN human right chief who recently criticized Tehran's crackdown on the opposition following the country's disputed presidential election last June.

The government-owned Borna website says Iran's rights official Mohammad Javad Larijani extended the invitation to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay in a meeting with the Swiss ambassador in Tehran. (AP)
