UK elections: Conservatives to be largest party

None

With 49 of the 650 UK seats left to report, the opposition Conservatives have 286, the ruling Labour party has 237, and the Liberal Democrats have 51 seats. Conservatives will be the largest party, but set to fall short of outright majority.

Exit poll suggested no party will win majority. Conservatives are forecast to win 305 seats, Labour 255, and Liberal Democrats, 61. A total of 326 seats are needed for majority, leaving even Labour and LibDems in coalition short of the required number. (Reuters)
