Livni to Mitchell: I hope proximity talks yield necessary change

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni met with US envoy George Mitchell on Friday and welcomed the American willingness to secure an agreement with the Palestinians. She told Mitchell that she hopes the proximity talks make the necessary change to facilitate an agreement.
Earlier, Mitchell met with President Shimon Peres, who stressed to the US envoy the importance of security to Israel, and told him that situation similar to the one created in Gaza following the disengagement must not be repeated. (Roni Sofer)
