State: Rabbi Peretz fit for chief military rabbi role

The State Prosecution filed its response in the High Court regarding the petition against appointing Rabbi Rafi Peretz to the post of chief military rabbi because of his involvement in a military disaster in which two soldiers were killed.

The State claimed, "In the decision to appoint Peretz, all the relevant considerations were taken into account, and it was decided that he is the most worthy and fitting person to fill the post." In 1992, two soldiers from the aerial rescue unit 669 were killed during training. Peretz was the pilot. (Aviad Glickman)
