Sheikh Jarrah protesters' trial begins
Six of the eight leftists charged with rioting during protests in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah arrived for their first hearing at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Monday. The activists told Ynet at the end of the session that they are innocent.
One of the defendants, Adi Winter, added that the protests were legal and that "we had a moral and civil obligation to protest against the wrongdoings and the injustice that exists in the neighborhood." (Shmulik Grossman)
