Barak: NPT pressure no real threat on Israel
Defense Minister Ehud Barak said at a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting on Monday that he does not believe the international pressure on Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty will bear fruits.
"We are facing the threat of long term erosion in Israel's international standing, but, despite this, with regards to the NPT, I do not believe there is a real danger or threat to the mysterious stance Israel has been presenting over the years," he said, adding, "The bond between us and the United States is more complex than the eye can see."
