Peres: Assad is only person who thinks missiles will lead to peace

President Shimon Peres, who is currently visiting Russia, said Syria must decide whether it desires peace or not. Peres' comments came following a meeting between Syrian President Bashar Assad and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, who is currently in Damascus.
"The Syrian president seems to be the only person who thinks the path to peace is by possessing long-range missiles aimed at the heart of Israel," Peres said, adding that Israel wants peace with Syria, but will not succumb to threats. (Ahiya Raved, Moscow)
