Assad: Sanctions on Iran ineffective
None
Syrian President Bashar Assad held a press conference in Damascus with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev and said imposing sanctions against Iran would be ineffective in clearing the region of nuclear weapons. He added that "it is every country's right to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes."
Assad added that Russia is a supporter of the peace process, which is currently deadlocked. "Peace and stability are the right way to fight terror," Assad said, condemning the recent terror attacks that took place in Russia. (Roee Nahmias)
