Barak: MKs' attacks on US efforts show Israel as 'refusing peace'

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said attacks by ministers against US efforts to advance contacts with the Palestinians harm the political process.
"I suggest that everyone, us and the Palestinians, act responsibly and avoid provocative statements," he said, adding that the things said harm Israel's interests with the US and the world in general, and present Israel as refusing peace. Barak spoke following Minister Eli Yishai's declaration that construction in east Jerusalem's Ramat Shlomo neighborhood would continue despite Israel's commitment to a construction freeze.
