Report: Israel prevented Noam Chomsky from entering PA
Elements in the Birzeit University north of Ramallah said that Israel has denied renowned linguist Noam Chomsky, a harsh critic of Israeli policies, to enter the Palestinian Authority via the Allenby border crossing.
The sources said that Chomsky was meant to hold a lecture at the university and was denied entry after being detained at the border crossing for more than four hours. Palestinian parliament member Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, who was to accompany Chomsky in a tour of the territories, condemned the act. (Ali Waked)
