Report: Peres offered to withdraw from Golan

President Shimon Peres relayed a message to Syrian President Bashar Assad that Israel would withdraw from the Golan Heights if Syria cut its ties with Iran and with the "resistance movements", Lebanese newspaper as-Safir reported Tuesday.
According to the report, Peres' message was relayed to Assad by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during the latter's visit to Damascus last week. (Roee Nahmias)
