Thai 'red shirt' leader urges peace

The leader of Thailand's "red shirts" called on supporters to be peaceful on Thursday, after rioting and arson the previous day when troops moved in to end their two-month protest movement in Bangkok.
"Democracy cannot be built on revenge and anger," Veera Musikapong, chairman of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), said in a televised statement as he was held in police custody. (Reuters)
