French FM to hold Mideast visit

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner will hold a two-day visit in Syria and Lebanon this weekend, the French Foreign Ministry announced Thursday. Kouchner is slated to meet Syrian President Bashar Assad on Saturday.
Germany's Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will also arrive in the region on Friday and will visit Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan in order to discuss regional aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflict as well as the peace process. (Roee Nahmias)
