US: N.Korea will face consequences for sinking ship

The sinking of a South Korean warship by a North Korean torpedo was an "unprovoked and unwarranted act" for which there will "definitely be consequences," the US State Department said on Thursday.

"Clearly this was a serious provocation by North Korea and there will definitely be consequences because of what North Korea has done," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said at a briefing. (Reuters)
