Iraq has its first ambassador to Egypt in 20 years

None

The first Iraqi ambassador to Egypt in two decades has presented a copy of his credentials to the Egyptian authorities.

Cairo and Baghdad broke off relations in late 1990 after Egypt joined the US-led coalition that forced Iraq out of Kuwait in the 1991 Gulf War. Since then, diplomatic representation has been at the level of charge d'affairs. (AP)
