White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel arrived in Israel overthe weekend for a private visit, during which his son will celebrate his bar-mitzvah at the Western Wall.
Emanuel vacationed in Eilat on Friday before heading back to his Jerusalem hotel, where he will be staying in the coming days.
The White House chief of staff may hold talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, although a meeting has yet to be scheduled.
Officials in Jerusalem have hinted that Emanuel is among those responsible for US President Barack Obama's hard-line policy towards Israel.
