Ministerial committee passes 'Shalit Law' stiffening conditions for Hamas inmates

The Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs passed the Shalit Law that stiffens conditions for Hamas prisoners in Israel in a bid to put pressure on the organization to release captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
A number of weeks ago, Ynet broke the news that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revoked his opposition to the bill. Previously, he had opposed the initiative in light of opposition from security officials. (Aviad Glickman)
