Women's Lobby condemns Elon Moreh rabbi's remarks

Nurit Zur, director of the Israel Women's Lobby commented on the statements made by Elon Moreh Rabbi Elyakim Levanon about prohibiting women from running for local administration posts and said the statements go against the democratic nature of the Israeli state and society.
"Such talk is scandalous enough to call the rabbi for a clarification. I expect leaders of the religious public in Israel to condemn the rabbi's instruction," she said. (Shmulik Grossman)
