Peres sends message of peace to people of Lebanon
President Shimon Peres commented on tensions in the northern border on Sunday during a ceremony marking 100 years to the establishment of the town of Shfaram.
"I call on the people of Lebanon: We left Lebanon to become friends. We want to live with you in peace and friendship. There is no need for mutual threats," Peres said. The president also referred to proximity talks with the Palestinians, which he hoped would turn into direct talks. (Ahiya Raved)
