Poll: UK voters want more nuclear plants

The majority of voters for Britain's three main political parties support nuclear power and nearly half back moves to change the planning system to make them easier to build, according to a YouGov poll for EDF Energy.

Sixty-four percent of the 4,300 people polled in the survey commissioned by the French nuclear energy company, which plans to build a nuclear plant in Britain by 2017, think nuclear power is a necessary part of a balanced energy mix. (Reuters)
