Police officers in Netanya arrested overnight Wednesday a young man who was in possession of 11.5 kilograms (about 25.3 pounds) of hashish.
The 26-year-old, who raised the officers' suspicion when they spotted him holding bags behind a bush in a public park, will be brought before a judge Wednesday for the extension of his remand.
On Tuesday a young man was arrested in Givatayim after a security camera caught him smoking marijuana at the Aliyah Shniya Park in the city.
Officers who were dispatched to the scene apprehended the man in his car while he was under the influence of the drug. The 20 year old was in possession of more marijuana when he was apprehended.
Officials said the municipality is planning to double the amount of security cameras placed throughout Givatayim within the next few months.
