The IDF Spokesman's Unit issued a statement in response to an Amnesty report regarding the Gaza blockade, which noted "IDF operations in the area including a naval blockade and restrictions in passageways stem from a need to maintain the security of the residents of the State of Israel jeopardized by the terror threat from the Strip."
"Nevertheless, the State of Israel and the IDF are making great efforts to avoid hurting the uninvolved civilian population and realize the great importance of humanitarian aid so long as the security situation permits it," the statement noted. (Ynet)
