Spain sees slower growth; weighs on austerity plan

Spain on Friday set lower growth expectations for the coming two years which analysts said were still too optimistic, leaving the country less leeway to meet deficit reduction targets already considered ambitious.
Battling to reassure markets its fiscal, political and social woes will not morph into a Greek-style debt crisis, the government forecast the economy would grow by 2.5 percent in 2012, down from its previous forecast of 2.9%, and by 2.7% in 2013, down from 3.1%. (Reuters)
