J'lem source: Obama assured PM US will avoid hurting Israel
A source in Jerusalem said that a couple of weeks ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received unequivocal assurances from US President Barack Obama regarding the maintenance and strengthening of Israel's deterrence and strategic capabilities.
"These assurances include a significant step up in the history of US-Israel relations regarding strategic understandings," the same source said. He explained that Obama sent a presidential message to Netanyahu promising not to undermine Israel's critical interests in UN nuclear demilitarization decisions. (Attila Somfalvi)
