IDF chief: No connection between Gaza sail and peace efforts
IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi said at a press conference following the deadly takeover of a Gaza aid flotilla: "There is no connection between what occurred on the ship and peace efforts and humanitarian aid. Our forces were met with extreme violence from cold weapons, and in once instance, from firearms that were snatched from our fighters."
He added, "The soldiers acted appropriately. Some of them were injured from gunshots and others from stabbings and blows." He said. (Ynet)
