Minister Braverman: Police must show restraint towards Arab public

On the backdrop of the general strike called in the Arab sector for Tuesday over the Gaza aid flotilla raid, Minister for Minority Affairs Avishay Braverman spoke with Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch on Monday and stressed to them the importance of the restraint the police must show towards the Arab population in the coming days.
He also met with heads of the Arab public and told them, "These are key moments for us all, and the police's job is to allow protests within the confines of the law and public order." (Sharon Roffe-Ofir)
