Merkel talks to Netanyahu, Erdogan; expresses deep concern

German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and expressed "deep concern" following the deadly Navy raid on the Gaza sail.
During a press briefing in Berlin Merkel said that efforts must be made to avoid an escalation. (AFP)
