Two Israelis sustained light injuries Thursday when their vehicle was pelted with stones near the West Bank city of Hebron.
Another Israeli who witnessed the incident opened fire at the stone throwers, who fled the scene. Two Palestinian students were wounded from the gunfire. One of them students is listed in serious condition.
Police and army forces were dispatched to the area and began searching for the stone throwers. The injured Palestinians were evacuated by the Red Crescent to a hospital in Hebron.
According to the Palestinians, the students were shot as they were making their way home after finishing a test at school. Sources said one of them sustained serious wounds to his back, while the other suffered light to moderate leg wounds.
The Israeli shooter has not been tracked down as of yet.
