IDF land training halted following soldier's death

IDF sources said that Ground Forces Command Chief Maj. Gen. Sami Turgeman ordered that all land training be halted until the circumstances surrounding the death of a soldier on the Har Keren base near the border with Egypt.
Details of the incident have yet to be reported. However, it is known that the soldier was wounded in the back by gunfire. A medical team dispatched to the scene tried to help him, but was forced to declare his death after a short time. (Amnon Meranda)
