Claim by family of Palestinian man killed in Jenin denied

The Haifa Magistrates' Court has denied a civil suit for compensatory damages made by the family of a Palestinian man who was killed in an IDF operation targeting terrorists in Jenin in 2004.
The family claimed that the man wandered into the soldiers' battle with wanted men by mistake, but the court determined that he had been there conducting a sale of a stolen car to one of them. The court also determined that though it was unclear who shot the man, his death was a result of "militant activity" and therefore the family should not be compensated. (Ahiya Raved)
