Tibi reportedly received a fax reading "You're dead," and a voicemail saying "Your days are numbered." The message, left on Tibi's assistant's cell phone, also included a slew of blasphemies.

Members of the Arab parties told Ynet that given the hostile public atmosphere which followed the Gaza flotilla raid, they feel more threatened than ever.

"This is the rightist Knesset members' fault, for creating an adverse atmosphere which gives everyone a free reign to express animosity towards the Arab leadership.

"We are facing times like never before," said Tibi.

The threatening phone message was left on Tibi's assistant's mobile phone, which is registered under Tibi's name: "Your days are numbered, you dirty Arab. You will meet a miserable end… Your days are numbered – you and all the Arabs, Talab El-Sana, you will die. Just you wait, oif they killed a prime minister here, killing you is nothing."

Earlier, MK Talab El-Sana (United Arab List-Ta'al) received a fax reading "you're dead."

"I blame the fascist Right for inciting this poisonous atmosphere, while trying to gain political capital from this crisis," El-Sana said.

"They are trampling on the fundamentals of democracy."
