Assad to Erdogan: Gaza flotilla fatalities martyrs

Syrian President Bashar Assad conveyed his condolences for the deaths of Turkish citizens in the Gaza flotilla raid, when meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Assad said the Marmara fatalities "lost their lives in a heinous crime, while defending a just cause. They are shahids in heaven." Assad and Erdogan met in Istanbul. (Ali Waked)
