Television reports say Turkish warplanes have struck Kurdish rebel targets inside northern Iraq. Turkey's private NTV and CNN-Turk stations says the warplanes pounded rebel positions in the Sidekan area Monday.
Military authorities were not immediately available for comment. Kurdish rebels have recently intensified their attacks on Turkish targets, and Kurdish rebel chief Abdullah Ocalan said last week he had abandoned efforts to seek dialogue with Turkey. (AP)
