Yemen has agreed to release an Australian woman who was among several foreigners detained in connection with an investigation into al-Qaeda's increased activity in the country, Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said Tuesday.
Shyloh Giddins, who was originally placed on house arrest May 14 along with her two children and later held in a prison, will be deported to Australia with her children by the end of the week, Smith told reporters in Perth. Smith said he spoke with Yemen's foreign minister on Monday night to resolve the issue. (AP)
