Germany says door still open on Iran fuel offer

Germany said on Wednesday there was still room for negotiations on an offer by Iran to send some of its nuclear material abroad in exchange for reactor fuel, despite Western doubts about the proposal.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Andreas Peschke said Iran's offer, the result of talks with Turkey and Brazil last month, was a "small facet" of the overall Iranian nuclear issue but that dialogue on the matter was still continuing. "I don't think this discussion process is over yet. Just like overall the hand of the international community remains open to Iran," he said. (Reuters)
