Iran says it has dismantled terrorist group
IRNA news agency says Islamic Republic arrested 13 members of terrorist network that killed at least 4 people, said to have ties to foreign intelligence services
Iran's official news agency says the country's intelligence service has dismantled a terrorist network that killed at least four people and wounded several others in recent months.
IRNA says Iran arrested 13 members and confiscated more than 1,000 pounds (500 kilograms) of explosives from the group, which it did not name.
Sunday's news report said the group has ties to foreign intelligence services and that the detained members were active in western Iran.
Iran has long fought Kurdish separatists in the area.
Last week, a police official in western Iran said such a group detonated a roadside bomb, killing three policemen.
In May, Iran hanged five Kurdish activists after convicting them of involvement in bombings.
