PM seeks public inquiry commission headed by Tirkel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed Cabinet Secretary Zvui Hauser to present the government on Monday a plan to establish a public, independent commission of inquiry into "the actions performed by Israel to prevent flotilla vessels from reaching the Gaza coast."

The committee will be headed by former Supreme Court Judge Jacob Turkel and will include international law professor Shabtai Hazan and retired Major-General Amos Horev. The Prime Minister's Office stated, "In light of the special international aspects of the event it was decided to appoint two foreign observers." (Roni Sofer)
