Canada welcomes Israeli probe into Navy raid

Canada has welcomed the decision to appoint an Israeli commission of inquiry into the deadly Navy raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla, which will be observed by Ken Watkin, international lawyer and former judge advocate general for Canada.
The Canadian government said that although it recognizes the need for humanitarian aid to Gaza, it fully acknowledges Israel's right to check Gaza-bound ships and ensure they are not carrying military equipment for Hamas. (AFP)
