Judge Matza: Handling of Gush Katif evacuees 'complete failure'

Retired Judge Eliyahu Matza, who heads the inquiry commission for treatment of the Gush Katif evacuees, referred to the State's rehabilitation of the evacuees, saying it was a "complete and clear failure of the executive branch." He added that the State had a "moral, social and cultural" obligation to act.

MK Zevulun Orlev, who initiated the forming of the committee, said the evacuees "have been suffering for five years" from serious neglect, adding that he would work to ensure the committee's recommendations were applied. (Shmulik Grossman)
