UN plane lands in Uzbekistan with aid for Kyrgyzstan refugees

A UN aircraft has landed in Uzbekistan with humanitarian aid for the thousands who fled their homes following ethnic violence in south Kyrgyzstan which has killed over 170 people.
Official sources in Tashkent say that some 75,000 ethnic Uzbeks living in Kyrgyzstan have already entered the country. On Monday it was reported that the border between the two countries would be closed to prevent further entry of refugees. (AFP)
