Netanya's Magistrates Court handed down a sentence of six months' community service, six months on probation and a fine of NIS 3,000 ($790) for Eli Lalush (31) who admitted to intending to smuggle a food truck to territories under Palestinian Authority control.
Lalush was to receive NIS 9,000 ($2,360) for the truck and the food it contained. His defense counsel said he had intended merely to get the truck mended cheaply in the PA area. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
