Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi said that following an initial investigation, it appears that the soldiers involved in the lethal raid on the Turkish flotilla to the Gaza strip operated very well considering the circumstances they found themselves in. "I salute them," Ashkenazi said. "It was not a simple situation, and they responded as they should have."
