MK Orlev refuses to allow Arab rep speaking time during education panel

Education and Culture Committee Chairman MK Zevulun Orlev refused to give the floor to a representative from the Arab Education Affairs Monitoring Committee during a discussion in the gaps in eligibility for matriculation between the Jewish and Arab sectors.
"The monitoring committee is a political, not a professional, organization," said Orlev. "It was established under the goal of centralizing political activities opposed to the education objectives law, according to which all Israeli students must be taught that the State of Israel is a Jewish and democratic country."
