NY judge signs off on deal for 9/11 responders

A judge has signed an order approving a settlement that could pay more than $700 million to thousands of responders exposed to toxic World Trade Center dust during and after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

US District Judge Alvin Hellerstein heard sometimes emotional testimony at hearing from victims on Wednesday before signing off on the deal. It still must be approved by 95% of the plaintiffs before becoming final. (AP)
