Shas' spiritual leader, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, admitted in his sermon marking the conclusion of Shabbat that there is a state of discrimination in Ashkenazi educational institutions and lashed out at Sephardim whose children are educated in Ashkenazi yeshivot.
"A girl who studies there will have an Ashkenazi brain, won't know the Torah," the rabbi said, adding that Sephardim shouldn't study in Ashkenazi schools. (Kobi Nahshoni)
