Government won't shorten men's military service

The government has decided to extend by 18 months the temporary order stipulating that men's military service will last three years.
The Defense Ministry stressed that the decision was made due to the security situation and following a drop in recruitment cycles over the last few years. It was noted the matter will be revisited at the end of 2011. (Ynet)
