IDF: Aircraft hit Palestinian firing mortar shell
An Air Force craft shot at a Palestinian firing a mortar shell from Gaza at an IDF force operating on the Israeli side of the border fence, the army said. It added that the Palestinian had been hit, and that the mortar he fired had hit an army vehicle.
Palestinian sources told Ynet that the victim was apparently a member of the Abu-Ali Mustafa Brigades, the Popular Front's military wing. The organization said in an official statement that its men had fired into Israel and were attacked by Israeli fire. (Hanan Greenberg and Ali Waked)
