Iranian official: Sanctions result of our support for Palestinians

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani says that the Western pressure on his country over its nuclear program is political and stems from the Islamic Republic's support for the Palestinians.
Speaking in Damascus during a meeting with Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal, Larijani added that a Western foreign minister from a permanent UN Security Council member had told him that if Iran were to compromise on the Palestinian issue, the pressure would be lifted. (Dudi Cohen)
