"Israel has always been willing to pay a heavy price to retrieve abductees," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday, in a short public address following the recent debate over the negotiations to release kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
"The deal which secured the release of Elhanan Tenenbaum saw us release 400 terrorists that have killed 27 Israelis since their release. deciding to release prisoners is a difficult, complex one. It is not all about saving lives, it is also about putting them at risk." (Roni Sofer)
