2 Israelis, 1 Egyptian suspected of attempting to smuggle heroin from Jordan
Special patrol unit police arrested three people suspected of attempting to smuggle 72 kilograms of heroin into Israel from Jordan.
In recent months police have been tracking a network smuggling drugs from Jordan to Israel. One of the suspects arrested on Saturday is an Egyptian citizen, and two other suspects are Israeli Bedouins. They were caught with 72 grams of heroin, and were transferred for questioning. They are slated to stand a remand hearing Saturday night in Beersheba. (Ilana Curiel)
